Ilene Hunter Winn Obituary (1938 - 2015)

Ilene Hunter Winn passed away on March 13, 2015 surrounded by her family. We celebrate the privilege of having a beautiful and loving woman in our lives whom we call mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We all knew she loved us by the way she lived, the values she instilled and because she told us and served us. Born in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Joseph Morell Hunter and Alverda Heslington. Ilene dearly loved her two older siblings Phyllis and Boyd with whom she shared an unbroken bond of love. She attended BYU, where she had some of her greatest experiences including meeting her sweetheart. Richard was instantly smitten and did all he could to win her over and realize her life-long dream of being married for time and all eternity. Their short life together included building a home in South Jordan where they raised five children. Ilene's life without Richard encompassed raising their family and sharing her faith and testimony of Jesus Christ. Her faith never wavered and she always took the opportunity to share the gospel. She served in many positions in the church. She gave countless hours of a listening, non-judgemental ear and words of wisdom; this is her legacy. After 76 years of cultivating loyalty and love, Ilene, and her Richard, now embrace again. We bid thee farewell sweet mom, until we meet again. Survived by her children Lisa (Tim) Muhlestein, Julie (Justin) Delcambre, Paul (Rachel) Winn, John (Holly) Winn, and Aimee (Swen) Swenson. Blessed with 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 South), South Jordan, Utah. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 with a viewing from 10-10:45 am in the LDS meetinghouse at 10168 South 1000 West, South Jordan, Utah.
