Iris Marion Shepherd Gray Obituary (1928 - 2007)

Iris Marion Shepherd Gray was born Aug. 21, 1928 to Ray E. and Phoebe Sleater Shepherd, died Aug. 5, 2007. Married George R. Gray, Sept 1950. Graduated from South High School 1945. Marion loved to sing and joined the Sweet Adelines in 1957 and was a charter Member of the Bountiful chapter and their first president. She sang in many quartets throughout the United States and Canada, and won numerous awards. Survived by husband George, son Douglas (Char Pehrson), daughter Janet, canine companion Gabby, grandsons, Dayton (Mary Beth), Austin (Lori), Eric (Courtney), great-grandson Justin, sisters, Arlyne Campbell, Joyce Trujillo and brother Robert Shepherd. The family would like to express our thanks to Murray Care Center and Love Hospice. Funeral services will be held Fri. August 10th, 11 a.m. at Jenkins Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St. Viewing will be held Thurs. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
