Jack LeRoy Hall

–

Salt Lake City, UT

Jack LeRoy Hall, 82, passed away after saying goodbye to his family on February 21, 2015.

He was born on March 16, 1932 in Garland, Utah to LeRoy Jardine Hall and Mary Huntsman Hall. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He married his sweetheart, Evelyn Susie Olsen on June 28, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Jack was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings. He loved the gospel and loved serving the Lord. One of Dad's great loves in the church was missionary work. He served as a stake missionary for many years. He loved hearing the missionary letters of his grandchildren as they served in the mission field. He was a gentle giant and served his family, friends, and neighbors quietly. Dad was a machinist by trade and worked for Christensen Diamond Products. He could repair almost anything you put in front of him and made many tools that he could use on his different projects. Dad had many hobbies including metal working, photography, leather working, archery, small engine repair and fishing. He always had something going on in his shop.

Jack served in the military during the Korean War. He was stationed in Japan and served as a Military Police Officer. He was always a great example to all. He never compromised his standards.

Dad loved his family and is survived by his three children, Janet (Ned) Ostler, David (Debra) Hall, Kristine (Glenn) Gailey and two brothers, Brent (Alberta) Hall and James (Linda) Hall. He has a great posterity of 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren with one more on the way. Preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, parents, sister, Marilyn Leale and brother, Burke Hall.
