Jack Fredrick Nell died with his wife of 70 years by his side. He was born in Salt Lake City to Ivan Chester and Thelma Player Nell. Jack married Marion Arnold on October 7, 1942.\n\nHe attended South High and graduated from the University of Utah. He served in the Army during World War II as a Bombardier. Jack worked in Utah in the insurance industry in many different capacities, including owning his own business. He loved all sports---playing basketball for South High School, coaching baseball for his son’s teams, and playing tennis and golf for many years. He was one of the original members of the Cottonwood Club and he and Mom made many friends there over the years.\n\nHe is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Marion A. Nell; 6 children, Sharron Nell, Jim, Dave (Nancy), J. Cory (Kathy), Rick (Michele), Scott (Pat); 17 grandchildren and their spouses; 26 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and many friends. (A special thanks to Todd Gunderman for all of his help over the last few years.) He was preceded in death by 3 granddaughters, Amy Rivera, Michelle Nell, and Sascha Nell Hurst.\n\nDad loved family and always gathered his children and their children close.
