James "Ray" Raymond Palmer Obituary (1924 - 2019)

Ray was born in Declo, Idaho to Will and Virgie (Talbot) Palmer, the 5th of 8 children. He married his high school sweetheart Micki McWilliams March 5, 1942, later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple. Micki passed away in 1994 after 52 years of marriage. They are survived by three children, Jim Palmer and Connie (Richard) Wills, Glenns Ferry, Idaho, Patti (Gary) Fuhriman, Grantsville, Utah, 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Ray served in World War II and Korea, remaining a Marine at heart for the rest of his life. He was a telegrapher for Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years. Ray was a builder and loved working with wood, sharing his many talents with family and friends. He served two LDS Missions in Kirtland, Ohio helping to restore historic church properties. Throughout Ray’s life he loved horses, sharing his skills as a volunteer for Zion’s National Park. Later in life he enjoyed many years with his second wife, Ella Talbot of St. George, Utah. Ray was truly a builder among men leaving a lasting legacy for those who knew him. Funeral Services under the direction of Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary.
