Lila Jean Green Horrocks passed away July 17, 2023 peacefully in her home after many years of fighting multiple health challenges. She was able to have most of her family all around her the evening prior, which was her greatest joy.\n\nJean was born December 16, 1941 in Huntington, Utah to Edward Lavar Green and Annie June Atkinson. She was the fourth of five children. She graduated from North Emery High School, then worked at Brigham Young University where she met Donald Horrocks. They were married in the Manti Utah Temple March 4, 1966. They bought a home in Taylorsville, Utah where they lived for 44 years and raised 6 children.\n\nJean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in numerous calling such as Relief Society President, Activities committee chair, and primary.\n\nShe had several jobs such as Catering, Secretarial work, and caring for children and elderly. She was always very service oriented and was a perfect example of Christ-like love. She made deep and lasting relationships wherever she went.\n\nShe is survived by her husband, Donald Verl Horrocks, her children, Vicki Horrocks, Ryan Horrocks, Craig Horrocks (Veronica), Brad Horrocks (Brenda), Brandon Horrocks (Nichole), and Tina Gamez (Salvador); 12 Grandchildren, Brenley, Olivia, Ariana, Caden, Haley, Tycee, Makenzie, Camden, Devin, Mia, Spencer and Alexis; her siblings, Ray Green (Linda), Eva Jensen (Marlin), and Mike Green (Sandra) and Sister-in-Law Carolee. She is preceded in death by her parents Lavar and June, and her brother Jack Green.\n\nFuneral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 498 East Hollow Creek (14085 South) Draper, Utah. Interment will follow at Valley View Memorial Park 4335 W 4100 S. A viewing will be held Friday evening July 28, 6-8 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel, 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy, and also an hour prior to the funeral at the LDS Chapel.\n\nWe would like to thank all the leaders and members of the Draper Mountain Point 4th ward, and the Rockwell Square community for all the support and care they have given to Jean over the last several years. And also to Intermountain Palliative Care Team, Fresenius Riverton Dialysis center, Salt Lake County Rides for Wellness and all other Doctors, Nurses and Aides for the exceptional care they provided to her.
