Jeannene Nemelka Barham Obituary (1936 - 2016)

Jeannene Nemelka Barham, our beloved and amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend peacefully returned home on Oct 31, 2016, at the age of 80. As a wonderful human being, she loved everyone regardless of age, background, beliefs or position in life. Our mother was born on October 30, 1936 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She grew up in a humble and challenging environment, creating a deep connection with her siblings. She married her sweetheart, Ed Barham, on May 6, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They had six children and built a home full of family traditions now lasting through generations. Her deepest joy was spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren. Our mother was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and cherished her relationship with her Savior. She was honored to serve on the Young Women's General Board and loved connecting with young women throughout the world. Words cannot capture the experiences and essence of our mother's life. Her true legacy is reflected in how she lived and loved. She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Ed Barham; her children Steven (JoDee) Barham, Jill (Jeff) Muhlestein, Brooke (John) McKenna, Brad Barham, Pyper (Mike) Commodore, and Matthew Barham. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren (and 3 more on the way) and her siblings, Rose (Rick) Blackham, Carol (Wight) Jensen, and Roger (Linda) Nemelka. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nephi Nemelka and Ruth Hubold, and her brother, David Nemelka. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5 at noon at the Riverview 9th Ward building, 11420 South 700 West, Draper, Utah, 84020. Family and friends may pay their respects from 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. prior to the services, or on Friday, Nov 4, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, (10600 So.)
