Jeffrey Dean Johnson, beloved husband, son, father, and grandfather, passed away in his home on November 20, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Jeff was born February 9, 1953 to Dean and Beverly Johnson in Salt Lake City. He married the love of his life “his darling”, Karla Poulton Johnson, on December 7, 1974. Through nearly 36 years their love and dedication towards each other set a true example for those around them. \n\nThey were blessed with three kids and eight grandkids. Jeff graduated from Highland High School and went on to continue his education at the University of Utah where he received his bachelor’s degree. He loved his runnin’ Utes. Jeff also had a passion for baseball, he played for many years as well as devoted his time and countless hours to coaching our youth. He also loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. \n\nFamily was his greatest love of life. He always had a very positive outlook on life and was such a great mentor to those around him. He never hesitated to be of great service and help to those who were in need. \n\nHe is preceded in death by his father Dean. He is survived by wife, Karla; sons and daughters, Jeremiah (Rhiannon), Heather (Mike), Jake (Candace) and eight grandkids; mother Beverly; sister Kathy (Steve).\n\nYou will be missed, we love you very much, and you will never be forgotten. As Frankie said, you did it your way, Dad. GO UTES!!!\n\nWe would like to thank the IHC Hospice workers for their hard work in making Jeff and his family’s difficult time a little easier.\n\nFuneral services will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Cottonwood Acres Ward, 981 E Revere Circle (5500 S). Viewing Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S State, Murray, Utah and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Elysian Burial Gardens.
