Jerry Dale Bilanzich, age 70, unexpectedly passed away at his home on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 due to a pulmonary embolism.\n\nJerry was a great man, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew, friend, and practical joker extraordinaire. He was born December 29, 1952 in Salt Lake City to George and Doris Hansen Bilanzich and grew up in Murray, Utah.\n\nHe graduated from Judge Memorial Catholic High School in 1971 and received his associate degree in broadcasting/communications from Career Academy in Chicago. In 1974 he married Susan Davies.\n\nJerry worked as a general manager with his father, George, at A & E Generator. He found his true calling and love in life when becoming a Murray City Volunteer firefighter evolving into a full-time fireman. He received many commendations for outstanding service, including Murray City fireman of the year twice. After retiring from Murray Fire Department, he relocated to St. George, Utah and worked as an anesthesia technician at Intermountain Health Care. He and his wife worked side by side as owners of Chrysalis Clinical Research until 2021.\n\nJerry was devoted to his wife, sons, grandchildren and his many friends and traditions. He enjoyed the outdoors, motorcycles, side-by-side and restoring cars in his "Man Cave" as well as playing practical jokes. Jerry was a fantastic cook and enjoyed sharing his "creation in his food lab" with all his friends and family. He was a great help to many people and truly a very kind, compassionate and generous human being.\n\nSurvivors include his wife of 49 years, Susan; sons Andrew Dale (Jacque), and Matthew Ryan; grandchildren Jack Andrew and Ella Elizabeth Bilanzich, Brody and Hudson Mitchell. Preceded in death by parents, brothers George and Joe.\n\nA funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 6 at 11 with visitation one hour prior. Services will be held at Saint Vincent Catholic Church, 1385 Spring Lane, Salt Lake City, Utah 84117. Internment at Murray City Cemetery.
