Jesse Ephraim Beckstead Obituary (1923 - 2011)

“Good Morning”Jesse Ephraim Beckstead passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 16, 2011. He was born May 3, 1923 in South Jordan, Utah to Henry Alton and Cecil Beckstead. Married his sweetheart Birdean Whatcott, Jan. 3, 1947, later solemnized in the Manti LDS temple. Dad’s greatest joy was spending time with his “noisy” family. He served honorably as a Naval Aviator during WWII. He was a salesmen for Bestway Products for 45 years. Dad was a member of the LDS church and served faithfully in many callings. He had a close relationship with his Savior and loved the gospel.Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, his children; Shearl (Jerry) Knorr, VerLynn (Barry) Gordon, Randy (Jacque) Beckstead, Brent (Kathy) Beckstead, Lorie Jeffs, Shawn (Crystal) Beckstead, 41 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, sisters Adeline and Louisa.A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday March 19th at 1:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley 1007 W. South Jordan Pkwy, South Jordan, Utah. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 pm on Friday, March 18th and Saturday from 12:00 – 12:45 pm prior to services. Interment South Jordan City Cemetery.
