Jianna Elizabeth Baine Obituary (2021

Our precious, beautiful baby girl Jianna Elizabeth Baine returned home to her Heavenly Father on May 20th, 2021. She passed away peacefully in the tender, loving arms of her mother accompanied by her father and grandparents at the Duke University Hospital. Jianna was a sweet, happy baby who could touch your heart as she locked eyes with you. Even though she was only 6-weeks old when she returned home, she had shared attributes of her personality. One example was related to how she looked lovingly into her parents’ eyes and another when she would repeatedly grunt and move away, with a little attitude, if mom or dad disrupted her sleep. Amidst her short life, Jianna had a boundless, eternal impact on the lives of her parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. The name Jianna means “God is gracious” and was chosen for the gratitude her parents felt for her life and also represents the combining of dad’s and mom’s middle names Jacoby and Ann. She is survived by her father Daeaz Jacoby Baine, mother Heidi Ann Harris, and grandparents Sandy Jacoby Baine and Nicole Hosey and Todd Harris and Denisha Harris. We’d like to thank the attentive, capable staff of Duke University Hospital. The expertise and support of the physicians, nurses and others who tirelessly cared for Jianna are deeply and sincerely appreciated. We can’t imagine a better team of experts who could have demonstrated more capable life-saving measures while providing the highest level of devoted care. A family viewing will be held at Clements Funeral Home in Durham, North Carolina on May 24th and a family graveside service will be held on May 26th at Elysian Burial Gardens in Murray, Utah.
