Jimmy G Reiter passed away peacefully on June 3, 2021, surrounded by his family, in his home. Jim was born on July 21, 1946 to Joe and June Reiter.
He graduated from Granger High School, class of 1964. At the age of 16, he met the love of his life, Nancy MacKay at S&M Skating Rink. They married in 1965 and spent the next 56 years together. Together they had 2 beautiful daughters, Cindy and Keri. Their family grew to include 2 sons-in-law, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, with 1 on the way.
Jim worked as a machinist his entire career. The last 16 years of his career were spent working at Lagoon as their only machinist.
He loved spending time with his family, especially spoiling his sweetheart, Nance, He loved gardening and bragging about his prize tomatoes. Many summers were spent at Snowbird where many memories were made. They spent many vacations exploring different places with their lifelong friends, Mike and Peggy Davis. We will miss his eggrolls, and Rigatoni with homemade sauce. It made him happy to make coffees and chai’s for everyone, especially during Utah Jazz halftimes. He loved making custom jewelry for family and friends. He was affectionately known as “grandpa grumpy”. He was a man of few words but showed his love to his family by many acts of service.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy, daughters Cindy (Troy) Nye, and Keri (Chris) Holding, grandchildren Morgan (Preston) Smith, Casey (Ashley) Nye, Jake (Dani) Holding, Kaitlyn (Brandon) Magleby and Austin (girlfriend Bri) Holding, great-grandchildren Raelee, Wyatt, Tyce, Emmett, Scotti, Rykker, Kash and his dog Gizmo.
