John Edward Lee, 88, of South Jordan, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2021 in his Arizona home surrounded by his loving wife of 38 years. He was born on a snowy day in January in Driggs Idaho, son of Edward Curtis Lee and Ethel Hill. He was raised to work hard and was passionate in everything he put his mind to.\r\n\r\nJohn graduated from Cyprus High School and enjoyed and exceeded in all sports including being semi-pro in basketball. He gained special schooling in Japan and Westminster College and began studies in drafting. John was drafted to the Army at 19 and served in the Korean War.\r\n\r\nPreviously married and had 3 wonderful children. Marion, Steven, and Tammy.\r\n\r\nMarried Elizabeth McLeod on March 3, 1984 and gained 3 more sons and a daughter. She was the love of his life and his everything. He was an engineer for Unisys Computers for 44 years He had a passion for skiing and was a member of Ski Patrol for 30 years receiving the Purple Star for Lives Saved.\r\n\r\nJohn had a love of everything outdoors and spent every summer fishing and enjoying retirement at Flaming Gorge on his boat "GorgeUs." He was the Commodore of the yacht club for two years.\r\n\r\nJohn was a warrior, fighting many battles in life and now he is finally at peace.\r\n\r\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Marion, and a great-granddaughter.\r\n\r\nSurvived by his wife Elizabeth McLeod Lee, son Steven Lee (Debbie), daughter Tamara Lee Anderson (Bradley), son Kevin Green (Mallory), son Colin Green (Raiya), daughter Kristi Runyan (Mark), son Cameron Green and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.\r\n\r\nA celebration of life will be held on Thursday June 24, 2021 at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), South Jordan, Utah. Tributes from 6:00-6:30 pm and visitation from 6:30-8:00.pm.
