John Witkamp

John Witkamp passed away on Wednesday September 29 at Summit Senior Living in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was born September 9, 1941 to Catharina Nykiel and Johan Witkamp in The Hague Netherlands during the German Occupation.

He immigrated to America in July 1949 with his mother and grandparents and settled in Salt Lake City. He attended South High, graduating in 1960.
He was married to Janice Taylor, divorced; married Nancy Graves, divorced; and was currently married to Jeanne Semlek.

He has resided in Denver, Colorado; Salt Lake City, Utah; Phoenix, Arizona; Tucson, Arizona; Huntington Beach, California and LaCenter, Washington. He traveled extensively in his work and later in his retirement. He worked in the heavy duty trucking industry his entire life, owning his own business Factory RepParts for 8 years. He retired from Echlin in 2011. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his wife Jeanne Witkamp, children Dirk Witkamp, Garrett Witkamp, Brett Witkamp and Catharina Taylor and step-children Stacy Richkun, Eric Shassetz and Sarah Cox; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A private viewing for the family was held to honor him.
