Salt Lake City, Utah
Joseph “Joe” Peasley passed away suddenly on June 21, 2026, at his home in West Valley City, Utah, at the age of 59. He was born April 8, 1967, to Sonja and William Peasley. He spent most of his childhood years being raised by his maternal grandparents, Erling and Ruth, whom he loved dearly. He attended Highland High School and graduated in the class of 1985. He had fond memories of being a Highland Ram, which included being on the football team and making many lifelong friends.
He married his honey, Christine “Christy” Stam on September 16, 2000. In 2002, they welcomed their first daughter Kylie into the world. Two years later, in 2004, Zoey was born. In 2025, Joe and Christy adopted their son Joseph, completing their family. Joe was an immensely proud husband and dad, always cheering his family on.
Joe worked a variety of jobs, including cargo transport, armed security, and school custodial services, before medically retiring in 2015 due to health issues.
When Joe retired, he strived to keep busy with projects around the house and even taking up woodworking. He eventually turned the garage into his wood shop, which he proudly called “Blue Iron Creations,” named after the street his family lived on. He was out in the shop most days and through that he got to know many friends from around the neighborhood. He took pride in his work and made sure each bench, table, or chair he made was built to last.
Although he had some health issues that may have affected his physical ability to do things, he was stubborn and determined, and he knew how to get the job done, or reach out to a neighborhood friend for help. His family is grateful to all the neighborhood friends who supported his woodworking, shared a kind word with him, or helped him in projects he was unable to do on his own.
Joe was a loyal and dedicated Denver Broncos football fan and even held season tickets, which he waited 19 years for. He was able to attend several home games in Denver and loved his team no matter what. If the Broncos were playing, he was watching the game. Because of him, the football season was a priority in the Peasley home. Go Broncos!
Joe is preceded in death by his grandparents, Erling and Ruth Espedahl, his mother, Sonja Peasley, and his loyal pups Jake and Skippy (“little man”).
Joe is survived by his wife Christine, daughters Kylie and Zoey, son Joseph, sister Karyn (Lance) and many other loving and supportive extended family members that he will be comforted to know will continue to support his wife and children. Joe would also want us to mention his “fur kids,” the family dogs, whom he spoiled and loved so very much: Peanut, Finn and Ginger.
Joe’s family would especially like to thank Dr. Daniel Preece and Dr. Jennifer Vogt for being like family to Joe. Their years of dedicated patience and care as his long-time medical support made all the difference to him.
We love you, Joe! Thank you for being a loving husband and father. We are blessed for the time we had with you.
