Sandy, Utah
Surrounded by loving friends and family, Joshua Sheldon Jensen was freed from his pain on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023.
Josh was born in Bountiful, Utah, on October 30, 1977, to loving parents, Sheldon S. Jensen and LeAnn Brenchley Jensen. Josh spent his childhood in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, California, and then back home to his Utah mountains to stay.
In his youth he enjoyed playing baseball, wrestling, and he was an aficionado of the Oboe. He graduated from Davis High School in 1996. He received his Eagle Scout prior to leaving on his mission in 1996. He spent two years in the Austria, Vienna Mission, serving the Lord from 1996 to 1998. He attended Weber State University and graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Go Utes!!
He married his beautiful bride, Tara Clark Jensen on May 18, 2002, in the St. George, Utah temple. His whole world revolved around her and their three amazing children, Cutler Joshua (18), Graden Clark [Grady] (16), and Adalynn Virginia [Ady] (13). In typical Jensen fashion, he had a vast number of hobbies that he enjoyed and shared with his wife and children. He spent most of his time climbing, camping, skiing, fly fishing, backpacking, biking, photography, and picking at his guitar – he unfortunately gave up the oboe. He was an avid Utah Utes football fan for many years. He had the best sense of humor. He was witty and goofy. He always brought everyone back to the present and could lighten the darkest mood.
Josh enjoyed his career as an outside salesman for a prominent lighting rep agency. He made many lifetime friends, both with his clientele and co-workers. He was well-loved everywhere he went.
His passion was working with the youth. He was a mentor and an example to many. Josh didn’t wait for “the right time”, he made the time and took the time to have adventures to take his favorite people to all of his favorite places. He had a way of pointing out the beauty in life and always helped everyone around him appreciate it with him. If you would like to honor Josh, make the time to have an adventure. Treasure your family as he did.
Josh is survived by his wife, Tara Clark Jensen; his children, Cutler, Grady, and Ady; his parents Sheldon and LeAnn Jensen; his siblings Nikki (Brett) Cammack, Natalie (Ben) Griffiths, Matthew (Ashley) Jensen; and many beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews.
