On Wednesday, December 20, 2017, Juanna Marie Monroe Davis, age 86, shuffled off this mortal coil and passed through the veil and into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father, her beloved husband, Seth “Blaine” Davis and her family. While the earthly wait of 49 years to see her husband again must have seemed long and at times unbearable, Juanna filled her years apart from her sweetheart with service, kindness and grace. Juanna was blessed to be visited by many family members prior to her passing.\r\nFrom her birth on May 10, 1931 to her death on December 20, 2017 she nourished the people around her with love, faith, and music. She was born in Scipio, Utah to Merlin and Loraine (Wasden) Monroe and was the oldest of four children. \r\nGrowing up on a farm in Scipio, Utah she discovered at a young age her love of music. This began a life-long passion and talent that she shared with her family, friends and her various Ward families. \r\nAfter graduating from Millard High in 1949, she attended Brigham Young University and then LDS Business College where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. Following her education, she began her business career and worked for the LDS Sunday School office, Salt Lake Hardware and the IRS. It was while working at Salt Lake Hardware that she met Blaine. Blaine was drawn to her vivacious personality, her beauty, her lively mind and her kind spirit.\r\nJuanna and Blaine married on April 21, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple. Their earthly journey together was short, as her beloved husband preceded her in death 13 short years later. They were blessed with three children Bradley, Stacey, and Robyn. \r\nJuanna loved her family, valued her friends, and cherished her life-long membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was an avid reader. She loved music and led the music and played the piano in various wards and stakes throughout her life. She also loved gardening, traveling, sewing and creating exquisite porcelain dolls.\r\nLeft to honor and remember her love are Juanna’s two brothers, Vernon (Evelyn) Monroe; Victor (Sandy) Monroe; uncle Bruce (Joan) Wasden; two living children Stacey Davis and Robyn Hendrickson; seven grandchildren; Brandon (Nathalie) Davis, Jill (John) Evans, Dylan Beckstead, Brandy Beckstead, Ashley (Brady) Thorn, Riley (Chelsea) Hendrickson; Madison (Michael) Blackhurst; 17 living great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. \r\nJuanna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Blaine; her parents; her sister, Ione Monroe; her son Bradley Davis; and two great-grandchildren. \r\nJuanna will be remembered as a devoted daughter, a loyal friend, and above all else an amazing mom and grandma. She spent countless hours with her grandchildren. She counted her daughters as her closest friends and her family as her greatest blessing. She brought a spirit of love and kindness to all those with whom she crossed paths. \r\nFuneral services will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley on 1007 West, South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), South Jordan, Utah 84095. President Kurt Soffe will officiate. The viewing will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, and again at the Mortuary on Thursday from 10:00 am to 10:45 preceding the funeral. \r\n\r\nBurial will follow at Memorial Estates 6500 South, Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84123. \r\nThe Davis family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff and hospice staff at Riverway Assisted Living for their attentiveness and loving care. \r\nWhile we acutely feel the departure of Juanna’s spirit from this mortal side of life, we know that life is short, that death is somber and that our separation from Juanna will be painful, but temporary. May God be with us until we meet again.
