Judy M. Erickson Whipple Obituary (1913 - 2006)

“Will Be Missed” Judy M. Erickson Whipple passed away in Murray, Utah, October 11, 2006 from ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). She was born June 5, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Winona Clara Parker Erickson and Floyd Edwin Erickson. She lived in Murray and graduated from Murray High School. Judy was beyond a light unto this world. She had many passions, talents, and impacted many in fantastic ways, which is why she was sent to this world. Her first passion was her animals. She was a “dog whisperer”. She raised, sold and showed dogs for over 30 years. She also ran the Breeder’s Guide Referral Service for over 20 years. Throughout the 1980’s and part of the 1990’s, she also edited, printed, and distributed the K-9 Report Magazine. She also ran a groomery in the 1970’s and 1980’s. She was extremely spiritual, and this was her second passion. She helped those in the dark find the light; those in need, love; those who suffered, compassion; and for the many who needed direction, she guided them along with her clairvoyance. Her third passion was Rock N Roll music and dancing. She was the “queen of the dance floor”, and danced every weekend at Club 90. She will be readily missed by all who went there and adored her. She was also a wonderful artist and writer. She was always in favor of a celebration. She always had a smile that lit up and filled you with warmth. She was a magnificent mother, sister, sister-in-law, cousin, and friend. Very special thanks to the University of Utah ALS Clinic, MDA Association, Lifepath Hospice, Chris and Jerry. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Whipple (Chris); brother, Jerry Erickson (Gayle); and many cousins, relatives, and friends. Services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Monday, October 16, 2006 at 10 a.m. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Monday. Donations will be accepted toward the ALS Association and the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
