Our loving mother, sister, aunt, and friend, Julie Michelle Riet Cooper passed away on July 11, 2022.\n\nJulie was born on June 8, 1964 to Thomas Edgar Riet and Shirley Westover Riet in Salt Lake City, Utah. \nJulie was a member of the Utah Air National Guard and served full-time with the Guard for 25 years until her retirement. She was deployed overseas several times during her service.\n\nJulie loved her family. She enjoyed bowling, softball, and family game nights. Julie was a master of all things trivia. She would play along with the TV show Jeopardy and would always be the first one to chime in with the correct answer. \n\nJulie loved the holidays and spending time celebrating them with her family. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.\n\nJulie is survived by her two sons, Jake (Jana Specht) and Jared; her brother Mark; her nieces Ryanne Riet and Tori Tlaxcala-Riet, and great-nieces and nephews Lucia, Mark, Quinn, and Alexander.\n\nNo formal service will be held. Julie will be interred at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Camp Williams, Utah.
