June Nadell Stott Ballard, age 82, passed away of Alzheimer’s disease on May 5, 2018 in Holladay, Utah. She was welcomed home with open arms by her Heavenly Father, husband, parents, grandparents, grandson, and all those who went before her.\r\nShe was born on June 4, 1935 in Manti, Utah to Leon James Stott and Eunice Rasmussen. She married Wilbur Eugene Ballard December 22, 1950 in Murray, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.\r\nJune had a love for gardening, animals, licorice, garage sales, mountain drives, angels, lighthouses, the Utah Jazz, her squirrels, family, friends, Hawaii, Big Red gum, ice cream, and getting into shenanigans. Many people through the years sat in her salon chair; she was so proud to have her cosmetology license and be able to do what she loved in her home. Her biggest dislike in life was having to wear oxygen in her later years; she would pass out from not wearing it in her garden and jokingly call it her leash. \r\nShe was an extremely hard worker. Even in retirement she would spend hours in her yard, home and on projects. Her family was her pride and joy; she loved spending time with them. Everyone who loved June knew her laugh was infectious, to watch out when she got feisty, and she’d be there cheering you on from the sidelines. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, cousin, aunt, niece, and friend. Her light will be missed in all of our lives.\r\nShe is survived by her children: Sherrie (Sherm) Drebing, Ron (Jeanine) Ballard, Mike (Susie), Dave (Tammy), Diane Lee; 7 siblings; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Ballard; grandson, Matthew Ballard; her parents; and sister, Louanna McDowell.\r\nA graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah, with a viewing prior from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 South State Street, Murray, Utah.\r\nIn lieu of flowers, please help the family with funeral expenses by donating through GoFundMe at https://www.gofundme.com/junebug2018.
