Kathleen Myers

–

Layton, Utah

Kathleen Turner Myers, age 76, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, in Layton, Utah. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched many lives through her kindness, faith, and love. She had a strong desire to serve others and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was married to her eternal husband, Joseph Douglas Myers, for 43 years. Together they raised three daughters: Monica (Jon), Candace, and Lindie (Mike). She was a proud grandmother to Miray, Leah, Kaylee, Cameron, Jaron, Karsynn, Emma, Talon, Joshua, Jaxton, and Izabella, as well as one great-granddaughter, Bonie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; her mother, Vera Davies Hartley; her sister, Glenda Arnold Jones; and her brother, Robert Clyde Hartley.

Kathy retired from employment with the State of Utah, where she took great pride in her work and found deep fulfillment throughout her career. She made friends easily and treasured those relationships, forming lasting connections at work, within her community, and at church. She was devoted in her church callings and assignments and always went the extra mile. Even in her later years, despite health challenges, she continually found ways to serve others.

Following retirement, she and Joe spent several years working at campgrounds and embracing the snowbird lifestyle. She loved running the store at Anderson Cove Campground near Pineview Reservoir, a role that matched her love of people, activity, and fun. Eventually, they settled in Yuma, Arizona, where they became part of a close-knit community and made many dear friends.

Activities such as sewing, crafting, attending events, and shopping brought her great joy. Continuing meaningful holiday traditions delighted her, and she especially loved making or purchasing matching pajamas for family members for Christmas Eve. She had a wonderful gift for making holidays and special moments magical, from shopping for back-to-school clothes and supplies to Easter dresses and treasured Christmas traditions that included photos with Santa.

She loved to travel and went on trips and cruises to Europe, Hawaii, Disneyland, Oregon, and Panama, to name a few. She enjoyed boating and organizing fun outings with family and friends, particularly to Lake Powell, Moab, Star Valley, and Bear Lake.

Her grandchildren were a constant source of joy. She loved being involved in their lives and they spent time playing video and arcade games, calling on the phone, going swimming, and taking golf cart rides. She put great effort into attending sporting events, performances, baby blessings, baptisms, and graduations. She also spent time making personalized quilts, Halloween costumes, and thoughtful cards and gifts for them. Many memories were made while shopping, going out to eat, and playing at Chuck E. Cheese.

Above all, she loved to give. She was generous and inclusive, and loved gathering family and friends together. We find peace in knowing she is now reunited with those who have gone before her, free from physical limitations and able to fully enjoy all the things she loved.

She will be laid to rest with her husband at Camp Williams. Her legacy of generosity, faith, and devotion to friends and family will continue on through all who were blessed to know her.

The burial service for Kathleen Myers is scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Camp Williams. Following the service, we invite those who attend to share memories of her.
