Salt Lake City, UT
1948 - 2015
All of his niece's and nephew's favorite uncle, Keith Alan Bliss, passed away April 13, 2015 from cardiac sarcoidosis. Keith was born February 14, 1948 in Tooele, Utah to Verdon Lynn and Florence Bennett Bliss. He was raised in Salt Lake City and resided most of his life in Murray, Utah. He graduated from Granite High School. He was called to serve a mission for the LDS church in the South Australia Mission. He always retained a love of that land and its people.
He married Jackie Lee Bush September 5, 1969 in the Salt Lake Temple and a month later was drafted into the US Army. He served his country in Vietnam as a member of the 369th Signal Battalion, 1st Signal Brigade. After Vietnam he finished his military experience with Jackie at his side in New Jersey and California. He retired in 2002 from the Postal Service after 33 years of service. There were many laughs and wonderful times at Christmas parties and camping trips with the "Post Office Group".
Keith and Jackie settled in Murray, Utah where they raised their two children, Ryan and Robyn. He was adored by his grandchildren Nathanael, Lauren, and Liam. Keith became close to many good friends and neighbors and his fun-loving nature and humor endeared him to many, but none more so than his Explorer troop. The "men" remained close friends for and were there to be with him at the end of his life. After Jackie died in in 2003, he met and married Victoria Daum October 12, 2005. He and Victoria had ten wonderful years together and had many wonderful times traveling. Victoria was a wonderful companion and provided great comfort in his last months.
Keith is survived by his wife Victoria, sister Janeal (Wayne) Burt, son Ryan (AnneMarie) Bliss, daughter Robyn, step-children Celeste (Tom) Charlet, Matthew (Christy) Daum, Christina (Brent) Jacobson, Jacob (Suzanne) Daum, 24 grandchildren, 1 granddog, and many nieces and nephews, and close friends Alan and Maureen Larson. Preceded in death by wife Jackie, parents, and brothers Ronald and Douglas.
We will miss our great husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend.
The family would like to thank the many healthcare professionals at IMC and Care Source that cared for Keith with great skill and compassion.
