“Esky”Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend passed away peacefully at his home in Murray, Utah on Thursday, July 22nd, 2010.Born February 9th, 1924 in Ogden, Utah to LeRoy Owen and Harriet Hansen Eskelsen.Keith lived an extraordinary life full of compassion, service, and hard work. Serving as a helicopter mechanic in the Merchant Marines, the Air Force, and overseas during World War II. He was never short of a good story and loved telling of his “adventures” and time spent in the military. Many of us still wonder just exactly how he came to receive those tough-guy tattoos?Keith married his sweetheart, Geraldine Tanner, on August 17th, 1950 in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He loved his friends, family, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren deeply – including his dogs. Always the jokester, Keith would keep us constantly entertained with his wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed traveling and working in his garage on any number of “fick it” projects for family and friends. Keith worked for many years for the Salt Lake County as a heavy duty mechanic where he would eventually retire.Survived by his loving wife Gerry; daughter Debra (Brad); grandchildren, Kimberly (Ryan), Trent, Brock (Bri) and Brody; great grandchildren, Riley, Reese, Guy, Pixel and “one on the way”.
