Kenneth Archie Searle (1939-2011), age 71, passed away peacefully at his home in Herriman, Utah on January 21, 2011. He was born April 10, 1939 in Delta, Utah to Archie Allen Searle and Wilma Damron Searle. He is the oldest of 5 children. Ken graduated Delta High School in 1957. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army where he served his Country honorably in the 1st Aviation Company, Fort Riley, Kansas from June, 1957 to June, 1959. Upon discharge he accepted a mission call for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to the Danish Mission. Ken served honorably as a missionary from June, 1960 to December, 1962. After his release he returned to Utah where he met and married his eternal love and companion Thora Kaye Dennett. They were married and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 28, 1963. \n\nKenny was a loving, caring husband for 47 years where he faithfully provided for his wife and 4 children through employment with the United States Post Office. He was the Statistical Programs Coordinator from which he retired in August, 2000. We are so blessed that, following kidney failure in 2002, his daughter lovingly provided him a kidney which allowed his family 8 more years of companionship. Kenny’s greatest joy in life was serving in many Church capacities and, most important, his family. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. His grandchildren were a great gift as they kept a smile on his face as he struggled at the end with cancer. Kenny felt very blessed that he and his family were able to spend a wonderful Christmas time together and saw many blessings given to his family at this time. Kenny was faithful to the end and had a valiant, strong testimony of his loving Savior and Father-in Heaven. After watching him struggle with pain for several years, his family is grateful for a knowledge that their husband, father and grandfather is now pain free and wrapped in the loving arms of his Savior.\n\nSurvived by his wife Thora Kaye Dennett Searle, children Gary (Cindy), Mike (Sheri), Sharlyn Erekson (Cory), and Alan (Tami). He is survived by 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also survived by his brother Stephen and sisters Colone, Connie and Chanel. Preceded in death by his parents and his in-laws, who he loved as his own parents. Special thanks to his son Alan and his wife Tami for the care they provided in his last years.
