Kirk Mayne Johnson Obituary (1922 - 2006)

“Loving Father & Friend” Our Dear Father passed away peacefully with loving family at his side on December 16, 2006 at the VA nursing home. He was born Oct. 8, 1922 in Monroe, Utah. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Eva Maurine (Montague) Johnson, and his parents, Arnold Johnson and Lois Davies. Dad is survived by his daughter, Sherry A. (Fred) Linford, AZ; son, Donald K. (Catherine) Johnson, SLC; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers; sisters; aunts, uncles; and many friends who will all miss him very much. Kirk served in the Army Air Corps during WWII in England. He attended the University of Utah and retired from Sears as a division manager after more than 25 years. Dad and Mom loved the outdoors where they spent many wonderful days together fishing, camping and hunting. Dad will be missed greatly and we will carry his memory in our hearts forever. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 SO. State Street, where friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday evening and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Friday. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
