Korie Cox

On July 13, 2024, my beloved son broke free from the chains of addiction and heartache. Korie's valiant fight to defeat the demons that so deeply engulfed his life was unfortunately lost. Korie was born September 22, 1995, to Jamie A. Cox and Malisa (Nicholls) Cox in Mt. Pleasant, UT. He brought so much joy into our lives with his mischievous personality and boundless energy.

From a young age, Korie was fascinated by how things worked and loved to take apart anything with a motor, putting it back together in working order. He loved motorcycles, ATVs, and cars, especially during Derby time, and could spend hours under the hood of any vehicle fixing it up. Korie also enjoyed RC planes, helicopters, and fast cars. He had a deep love for the mountains, hunting, fishing, and much to his mother's dismay, bringing home stray dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, lizards, and hermit crabs. He had a strong sense of adventure and big dreams. Korie was a hard worker who could operate any piece of heavy equipment. In his final months, he worked at Tough Shed in Salt Lake City, where his boss often praised him as the equivalent of three workers, frequently staying late to help colleagues finish their tasks.

Korie loved his brothers, Dalan and Luke, and regretted not being closer to them throughout his adult life. We cherished his last few months while he lived with myself and his brother Luke in West Jordan.

In our hearts, we know Korie has found his way to peace and is reunited with his dad and grandma.

Korie is survived by his daughter, Trinity Cox; his mother, Malisa (Nicholls) Cox; his brothers, Dalan (Alyssa) Cox and Luke Cox; his grandparents, Dale Nicholls, Dennis and Lynnda Cox; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jamie Arthur Cox, and his grandmother, Mickey Charmaine Nicholls.

On July 19th, a public viewing will be held from 12:00 to 1:45 PM, followed by funeral services at 2:00 PM. Both the viewing and funeral services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Chapel and Cremation Center in South Jordan. There will be no burial services, as we have chosen to cremate Korie.
