William Lane Martin passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 15, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in San Francisco, California on May 10, 1940 to William Felix and Zillah June Lane Martin.\r\n\r\nLane was raised in Salt Lake City and graduated from South High School and the University of Utah. He completed the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corp program with the rank of 2ndLt.\r\n\r\nOn June 25, 1965 he married his sweetheart, Linda Crosgrove in the Salt Lake Temple. They had two children, Taylor and Ryan.\r\n\r\nHe spent his career as a pharmaceutical representative for Sonafi-Aventis and received many awards for his outstanding performance with the company.\r\n\r\nLane was a physical fitness buff all his life. He went to the Sports Mall 4-5 days per week for over 30 years. He loved to golf, ski, ride his Triumph motorcycle, and spend hours on his jet ski. His favorite vacation spot in the world was McCall, Idaho, where he went every year with family and friends since 1971. After golfing 36 holes on his favorite golf course in McCall, he would head for the Payette Lake and float on his inner tube and ride his jet ski until dark.\r\n\r\nLane is survived by his wife, Linda; two sons, Taylor and Ryan; granddaughters, Rianna and McKaila; siblings, Jim (Willie) Martin and Patricia (Bruce) Gray. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Aagard; and brother-in-law, Bruce Gray.\r\n\r\nThe family would like to thank Ashby Hospice, and especially Bridgette, for their loving care. \r\n\r\nLane was a sweet, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed. \r\n\r\nA viewing will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 10:00-10:45 a.m. at the Murray Utah LDS Stake Center, 150 East 4600 South, Murray. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Murray City Cemetery, 5600 South Vine Street.
