Larry Wright Johnson of Salt Lake City passed away while surrounded by family on May 17, 2021. He was born January 22, 1949 in Brigham City, Utah and was the oldest of 6 children. He lived in Willard, Mudlake, Idaho and Salt Lake City.

He attended elementary school in Willard, Box Elder Jr. High, and Box Elder High School in Brigham City. He received an Associate’s Degree in accounting from Stevens-Henager College.

He served an LDS mission in the Sweden, Stockholm Mission and he served an Inner City Mission with his wife. He served in numerous Ward and Stake positions and enjoyed serving regularly in the Jordan River and Salt Lake Temples for over 30 years. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.

He married his loving spouse, Kristine Tanner, in the Ogden Temple where they were sealed for time and all eternity on June 9, 1972.

He worked for many years at Utah/Idaho Sugar, Western Steel, the State of Utah, and Salt Lake County.

He was a loving brother, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his brother, DeMar, and leaves behind his other siblings: Allen, Blain, Corey, and Ronda; his sweet wife, Kris; his 6 daughters: Beth (Andrew Petersen), Becky (Bryce Tousley), Sara, Celeste (Ioane Kaotia), Lisa, and Amy (John Williams); along with his 2 granddaughters, Abbie and Laura.

His warm smile will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, at 1:00 p.m. at the Little Cottonwood 9th Ward, 1160 East Vine Street. Viewings will be held at the church on Friday, May 21st from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, May 22nd from 12:00-12:45 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery.
