“Addy”\n\nLawrence “Addy” Francis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, while surrounded by his family. He was born May 16, 1919 in Salt Lake City to Lawrence M and Rubelle Francis. Addy married Mary E Porter on December 30, 1939.\n\nHe served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1946 and was a member of the American Legion for over 50 years. He retired from 7-11 Stores where he had been a maintenance supervisor.\n\nAddy has been a member of the American Baptist Church for 50 years. His greatest joy was singing in the choir at Murray Baptist and Bountiful Community Churches.\n\nHe is survived by his loving wife Mary, sons Lawry Francis, Wickenburg, AZ; Gerald (Lorraine) Francis, Guemes Island, WA; daughter RaeLynn (Syd) Patterson, West Jordan, UT; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; brothers Marvin (Carla) Francis; Harvey (Jeannie) Francis; sister Marilyn (Owen) Foote. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Arlyne and Fred Taylor and two grandsons Geoffrey Anderson and Christopher Francis.\n\nThe family wishes to thank Dr. Jonathan Whisenant and Ester, and everyone at the Utah Cancer Specialists; and Janna with CNS Hospice.\n\nFuneral services will be held Monday, October 23, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Murray Baptist Church, 184 E 5770 S, Murray, UT. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, October 22, 2006 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home, 4760 S State St., Murray, UT and at the church on Monday from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm. Interment at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S Vine St., Murray.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to CNS Hospice, 6949 High Tech Dr., Suite 200, Midvale, UT 84047.
