Lena King Borovatz

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on May 13, 2010.Lena was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 18, 1929 to John and Rowen King. After graduating from Granite High School in 1948, she married Matt T. Borovatz on October 22, 1948. During Lena’s younger years, she worked for JC Penney and Albertsons, and later retired from Holy Cross Hospital.Lena enjoyed fishing, bowling and going to the cabin she and Matt built with their children. But most of all, she enjoyed her family and the times they all spent together.Lena is survived by her sons, Matt T. Jr. (Mitzi), Mark (Marilyn); and daughter, Katharine Spencer (Dave Jr.); five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Lorene; and close friends, Mel and Alice Hochhalter. Preceded in death by her husband; parents; sisters, Dorothea, Harriet, Naomi, Wanda; and brother, Marlon.The family would like to give a special thanks to their neighbors for all their support to Lena and Matt during the last few years.“Nana, we will miss you, but we’re so happy that you are now with Dede. We will treasure your memory in our hearts forever. We love you!”Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street. Viewings will be at the mortuary Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Friday 10-10:45 a.m. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
