Lila May Christensen Braithwaite

Our Beautiful Ray of Sunshine, Lila May Christensen Braithwaite our Mother, Grandmother, Great & Great-Great Grandmother has peacefully left her earthly home on October 16, 2017.

Born May 28, 1926 in Nephi, Utah to James and Mary Emily Winn Christensen. Married to Peter Vasilillas in 1946, one daughter, Christine. Later divorced and then married Gerald R. Braithwaite on July 2, 1948, two daughters, Janet and Kim.

Lila worked in the banking industry for most of her life and achieved many Awards in Excellence and recognitions for her warmth and thoughtfulness in her people skills. She was also a loved member of the LDS Church and served happily in many callings.

Sweet Lila was devoted in giving of herself to her family and friends in every way she could through her warmth, contagious smiles, gift of gab and zest for life. She never failed to forget a birthday and thoroughly enjoyed celebrating every holiday with flare!

Preceded in death by husband, Gerald R. Braithwaite. Survived by her daughters, Christine Oliver, Janet and Jim Lund, Kim and Joey Montrone; 7 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 at noon at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S), So. Jordan, UT. Friends and family may visit there Wed., Oct. 18th from 6-8 pm and preceding the funeral from 10:45 – 11:45 am. Interment at South Jordan Cemetery.
