Lisa Jensen

–

Woods Cross, Utah

Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend Lisa Jeanne Davies Jensen passed away at her home in Woods Cross January 15, 2024 after a long fight with dementia. She was surrounded by family and received her wish of staying in her home with her beloved husband till the end.

Lisa was born January 17, 1955 in Provo, Utah to Eugene F. & Sallie Ramona Duncan Davies. She was the eldest of eight children and was a great help to her mother around the house with the cooking, cleaning and childcare. She was the consummate big sister, teaching her younger sisters all they needed to know about fashion, makeup and boys when she was younger and then teaching, helping and serving all of them throughout her life. She grew up in Utah and Colorado and graduated from South High in Salt Lake City in 1973. She worked in the insurance industry after high school. She was a very professional waitress at a high end restaurant when her kids got a little older. She married the love of her life, Wallace Wilson Jensen, Jr. on September 1, 1977. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They soon moved to Woods Cross, Utah and spent the rest of her life there. She loved the neighbors and the town and always said Davis County and Woods Cross were a special place that changed her life.

Wally and Lisa began their family right away, welcoming a son, Joshua, ten months after their wedding, and identical twin boys Peter and Nathan two years later. Those rowdy rascals kept her heart and her hands very full. She was so excited to get to welcome a baby girl, Danielle, six years later. She was thrilled to be able to dress up a cute little girl and have a buddy for so many girly things. She was an excellent mom and housewife with a gift for cleaning & organization as well as being a great cook. She was her kid’s greatest cheerleader in all their different activities. Lisa also loved decorating her home to the nines for each different holiday and season. She loved a good day at the boutique finding new treasures to decorate her home as well as finding gifts for others. She also had a knack for being well dressed and perfectly accessorized. She sold Mary Kay cosmetics and Cookie Lee jewelry and was a very effective walking ad for her own business. She also loved fitness and was a certified aerobics instructor as well as an avid runner.

As beautiful as she was on the outside, she was more so on the inside. Lisa had an unfailing optimism that helped her weather life’s storms as well as lift and cheer those around her. She was loving and accepting. She opened her home several times to family members that needed a place to stay, providing a welcoming refuge for them. Her greatest pride was her children and grandchildren. Family was definitely the most important thing to her. She lived for being a grandma, and put on the best Easter egg hunts, popcorn parties and Christmas dinners. She loved having her family attend the Bountiful and West Bountiful parades with her as well as the Woods Cross Memorial Day breakfast, and always looked forward to the annual Labor Day trip with all the kids and grandkids.

Lisa was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many capacities in different organizations of the church. She loved attending the temple, driving down to the Jordan River Temple weekly before the Bountiful temple
was opened. Her testimony and faith in the Savior were powerful in their beautiful simplicity. She lived as He did, seeking out opportunities to serve Him by serving her fellow man and shepherding those around her. Her passing leaves a big hole in our family and she will be so missed. The family wishes to thank the IHC nurse and CNA’s who helped care for Lisa the last couple of months. We especially wish to thank our father, Wally Jensen for the tender patient care he took of our mother these past years. What a beautiful example of true love theirs is.

Lisa is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Wally; children Josh (Chelley) of South Jordan, Ut; Peter (Joanna) of Elk Ridge, Ut; Nathan (Jillian) of Farmington, Ut; and Danielle (Andy) Egan, of Smithfield.
