Lois Irene Neff Stringfellow Johnson passed away on April 27, 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.\n\nLois was born March 1, 1936 to Stanley and Grace Neff in Crescent, UT. She was the youngest of four children. She always talked about her wonderful childhood working and playing on her parents’ turkey farm with her brother and two sisters. It was there that she learned the value of hard work, which she instilled in her own children. She attended and graduated from Jordan High School—she was a true Beetdigger!\n\nOn July 8, 1954 Lois was sealed to Landon “Tuck” Stringfellow in the Manti Temple. Together they had six children: Stanley (Susan) Stringfellow, Susan Montoya, Warren (Peggy) Stringfellow, Rachel (Gary) Vancil, Mary Grace (Charlie) Roundtree, and Ellen (Billy) Pruitt.\n\nIn 1988 Lois married F. James Johnson and was blessed with six wonderful stepchildren: Sandy (Clair) Sherman, Jeneel (Steve) Salmond, Bryce (Lily) Johnson, Joel Johnson, Lenore (Ron) Beckstrom, and Vicky Johnson. After retirement, Jim and Lois enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending the winter in their home in Harrisburg. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.\n\nLois is survived by her husband; 11 children; 29 grandchildren; and a growing number of great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters, LaVon Tanner and Faye Brady (“K”); and sister-in-law, Elaine Neff. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gordon Neff; step-daughter, Vicky Johnson; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and first spouse, Landon Stringfellow.\n\nThe love and devotion Lois gave to her family was the greatest gift she has left us. “Mom, you taught us well and made our lives full. We all love you.”\n\nOur family would like to express a sincere thank you to the people of Hospice who took such good care of Lois.\n\nFuneral services will be held Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richards Ward House, 860 E. Downington, SLC, UT. A viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So.
