“Rene”\n\nLorene (Rene) M. Atwood, 85, of Ellensburg died Friday, March 10, 2006 at her home. Born September 2, 1920 in Lawton, Kansas, she was the oldest of nine children of Walter M. and Dorothy (Heuett) Mullins.\n\nShe and Glen (Bud) Atwood were married in Randolph, Utah on August 22, 1939. Their marriage was sealed in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah on May 7, 1946. Lorene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Over the years, she held many callings in the church. The calling she enjoyed most was teaching the primary children. Lorene and her husband moved to Ellensburg in 1980 to be closer to their daughter and grandchildren. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1983. For the past six years, she has made her home with her daughter, Joyce.\n\nIn addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and their husbands, Roberta (Marvin Thompson) and JoAnn (John Condie).\n\nSurvivors include her daughter, Joyce Bloxham; granddaughter, Sunny Bloxham; grandson, Jay Dee (Christina) Bloxham; and great-grandsons, Logan Wyatt and Taylor Wayne Bloxham, all of Ellensburg; six brothers and sisters, Virginia (William McQuillian), Walter (Zola), Maxine, Leonard (Jeanette), Evelyn (Bud Kirby), Richard (Marianna); and many nieces and nephews.\n\nGraveside services will be Friday, March 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Murray City Cemetery, 5600 So. Vine Street, Murray, Utah. Friends and family may call from\n6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16th at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, Murray, Utah.
