Lorna Williams

–

South Jordan, Utah

On Sunday, September 20, 2026, our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Lorna Williams, peacefully returned home to her Father in Heaven.

Lorna was born January 23, 1944, to Hiett Ashby and Helen Grant Ashby. She was proudly raised in Granger, Utah, a place that remained an important part of who she was throughout her life.

Lorna married the love of her life, Gayle Williams, on November 27, 1970. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. After nearly 14 years apart, we find great comfort in knowing that they are together again.

Of all the wonderful things that could be said about Lorna, perhaps the most important is simply this: she loved people.

She loved deeply, completely, and without condition. Whether you were one of her children, a grandchild, a niece or nephew, extended family, or a friend, Lorna had a remarkable ability to make you feel like you were one of the most important people in her world. Her heart always seemed to have room for one more person.

Family was the center of Lorna's life. She loved her four children fiercely and was endlessly proud of them. But few things brought her more happiness than her three grandsons, Bauer, Kash, and Knox. They were truly her most prized possessions, and being their grandmother was one of the greatest joys of her life.

That same love extended far beyond her immediate family. Lorna's nieces and nephews, and later her great-nieces and great-nephews, were never "just" nieces and nephews to her. She loved them as if they were her own children. That was simply who Lorna was. She didn't love people halfway. When she loved you, she loved you with her whole heart.

Her faith in Jesus Christ and her belief in eternal families were an important part of her life. Throughout the years, she faithfully served in many capacities in the Church. She lived her faith through kindness, compassion, and an extraordinary ability to love those around her. Because of that faith, although saying goodbye is incredibly difficult, we find peace in knowing this goodbye is not forever.

Lorna leaves behind a family that is better because she loved us. We will miss her presence, her kindness, and the comfort of knowing that no matter what happened in life, Mom was always there and her love was unconditional.

She is survived by her four children, Heidi, Jared, Suzzi, Brian and Katie; her three treasured grandsons, Bauer, Kash, and Knox; her sister, Delores; her beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who were all more like children to her; as well as her loving extended family.

Mom, thank you for loving us the way you did. Thank you for showing us what it means to love completely and without reservation. We love you to the moon and back. Until we see you again, we'll "be good."
