Lorraine Ruth Searle Bailess

Lorraine Ruth Searle Bailess, age 80, passed away peacefully; surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009. Lorraine was born Sept. 25, 1928 to Heber Jay Searle and Edith Fitzgerald of Salt Lake City, Utah. She is survived by two sisters: Ardie and Nadine.

Lorraine was married June 23, 1953 to Harold D. Judd in the Salt lake Temple. They have two children, Chantel Parker and H. Shaun Judd (Kristen); both of Salt Lake City. They were later divorced.

Lorraine later married William F. Bailess on Sept. 28, 1996 in Salt Lake City until his passing on Nov. 26, 2007.

Lorraine was an active member of the LDS Church where she loved being a visiting teacher. She was a devoted friend who engaged in service up until the very end of her life. She will be greatly missed.

Lorraine will be dearly missed by all her grandchildren: Zacquary, Zaben, London, Morgan, Ashley, Jordan and Sora (great-grandchild).

The family wished to thank the staff and residents of Crosslands Rehabilitation Center for their service and friendship.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where friends and family may pay their respects from 1:00-1:45 p.m. prior to services. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
