Our dear, sweet mother, Lucille Doris Hannon Lake, slipped into her beloved husband’s arms on August 12, 2018. She was born July 25, 1936, the 6th daughter of Adlai Weimer Hannon and Helen Mable Sejnoha. She valiantly endured the ravages of Alzheimer’s for many years and yet never lost her loving heart or her sense of humor.\r\nLucille was fellowshipped into the LDS church as a teenager by high school friends some years after the death of her father. She always said she won the heart of her beloved husband, David A. Lake, her senior year of high school (he always claimed she had his heart from the first time he saw her), and they were married June 4, 1954 in the Idaho Falls Temple.\r\nLucille leaves behind a legacy of love and service. She never missed an opportunity to serve her family or neighbors and in any capacity she was called to in her LDS ward or stake. She loved to sing. She cared for her mother-in-law from the beginning of her marriage until months before her mother-in-law passed away in 1966. Her home was always open to family and friends no matter how long they needed to stay. Her love radiated to all that she knew even at the end of her life. \r\nHer sweetheart left this life November 24, 2017 after 63 years of marriage. Their life together included 5 children: Kevin (Rachelle), Sue Christiansen (Mark), Cheryl White (Bart), Robert (Jennifer), and Marci. Over the years the family grew by 17 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren who brought great joy and happiness to her life. She is survived by her children and 3 sisters: Viola Hayes, Evelyn Marshal, Lois Middleton (her kindred spirit); 2 brothers: James Carroll and David Carroll; and 3 step-sisters: Pat Devenberg, Jenny Mc Cormick and Linda Ellis.\r\nThough she is now gone from view, her great example and faith lives on through us, those whom she served and loved without hesitation.\r\nFuneral Services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the LDS Chapel located at 5600 South Vine Street in Murray, Utah, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9:30-10:45 a.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Murray City Cemetery.
