Madeleine Orton

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend Madeleine A. Orton age 84, passed away peacefully December 13th 2022 in Murray Utah.

Born November 16th 1938, in Heber City, Utah to Hugh C and Beulah Giles Alder. Married Dennis M Orton Feb 18, 1961 in Salt Lake City Utah. The marriage was later solemnized December 18th 1961 in the Salt Lake temple. Madeleine was an active member of the LDS church where she served in many positions, including librarian where she was known for occasionally sharing tacos with other people in the ward. Madeleine loved working with the youth and was known for being the hallway teacher where she influenced many lives.

Madeleine is survived by her children: Scott (Alice), Eric(Tauni), Brad(Christine), Kristilyn Lewis, Kayleen Orton, Phillip(Kristin), 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, her brother Robert Alder(Louise), and her sister-in-law Judy.
Preceded in death by her husband, Dennis M Orton, her parents, brothers; William and Brent, and sister-in-law Linda.

A viewing is scheduled for Sunday, December 18, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State Street, Murray, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Murray 13th Ward, 6320 S. 7th W., Murray, Utah. With a viewing prior to the service from 10:00 - 10:45 am.

Interment, Murray City Cemetery.
