Marabeth O' Laughlin Nielsen Obituary (1938 - 2009)

Our loving mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2009 at her home in Herriman, Utah.Marabeth was born in Canton, Illinois on April 19, 1938 to Philip J. and Frances L. O’Laughlin.With her father having served in the military, she traveled to many places growing up. She finished her schooling in Tooele, Utah and eventually settled in Salt Lake where she began her adult life and raised her family.She worked in human resources/payroll most of her career. She was a wonderful woman who was deeply committed to her children and grandchildren, all of whom loved her dearly. The sleepovers with grandma will be missed the most. They will remember her- you, me, together forever.She enjoyed traveling and recently was able to take her last family trip to Island Park. We all enjoyed the time we spent down by the river with her.She was compassionate and strong and a great example to everyone around her. There wasn’t a person who met her that didn’t like her.Dear Sweet Mom, What a beautiful person and soul, who always put family before yourself. You are our rock. We know heaven is a better place with you there. You’ll be loved and cherished in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. All Our Love, Your Family.Survived by her brothers Mike (Betty) O’Laughlin, Tom (Debbie) O’Laughlin and their families. Her children and grandchildren; son Jay (Joanna) Neiheisel and children, Stephanie, Jeremy, Magda, Anthony; daughter Jennifer (Mark) Lander and their daughter Nikelle; daughter Amy (Taylor) Tenney and children Riley, Lauryn, Colby, and Troy. And her favorite companion Rocky.Services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 West South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah, with a viewing from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to services. The service continues at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 13001 South 3600 West, Riverton, Utah.
