Marciel Mary Plott Ricci Obituary (1917 - 2006)

Mom Marciel Mary Plott Ricci, 89, our beloved mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and friend passed away December 28, 2006. She was born November 15, 1917 to Felix and Filomena Plott. Marciel grew up in Murray Utah and graduated from Murray High School. She and Fiore raised their family in Murray, Utah. Married Fiore Ricci on July 27, 1940. Marciel loved to cook and bake traditional Italian meals. Her family and friends truly enjoyed the warmth her kitchen always offered. No one ever left thirsty or hungry. Mom always put her family first. Her love for her family was unconditional and we always knew she would be there for us. She spent the last years of her life serving others, selflessly caring for her daughter. She was an example and inspiration to all who knew her. Her spirit and presence will be greatly missed. Marciel was preceded in death by husband Fiore; brothers, Joe Plott, Gene (Emily) Plott, Nick (Thelma) Plott, Henry (Dee) Plott; sister, Virginia Plott. Survived by her son, John; daughter, Linda; brother, George (Ellen) Plott; sister-in-law, Florence Plott Thomas; grandchildren, Nicole (Kent) Corson, Gina (Kenyon) Kennard, John (Aimee) Ricci II; 5 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Arlene and Glen Collins, Dixie and Dennis Davies for the warmth and companionship they shared. Sincere thanks for the loving care provided by all of Marciel’s health care professionals, Love Hospice and Cottonwood Hospital. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church, 1375 E. Spring Lane (5000 S.). Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary (4760 S. State St.). Where friends and family may visit from 6-7 p.m. Interment at Murray City Cemetery.
