Mark Jesse West

In loving memory of the best husband and dad ever! Mark Jesse West returned home, unexpectedly, on December 20, 2009 at the age of 53.

Born on November 7, 1956 to Jesse A. and Jo Ann C. West. He graduated from Granada Hills High School, CA., and then served an LDS mission to Portland, OR.

Mark married his high school sweetheart, Lorie Young, on May 4, 1978 in the Salt Lake Temple. He then completed a Bachelors Degree from the University of Utah. Mark spent 25 years of his career in the Retirement Housing Industry much of that time living in The Woodlands, Texas. More recently, he changed careers and acquired Help-U-Sell Real Estate in Cache Valley.

Mark had a strong testimony and love of the Gospel, having served in many church positions. He was a loving father with a big heart. He loved his family and always made them his first priority, receiving much joy from the time spent with them. Mark touched everyone’s lives by his example of humility and integrity. Anyone who knew him, loved him, and will never forget him.

Mark will be greatly missed by his best friend and sweetheart of 31 years, Lorie; three daughters, Krista (Mike) DuBois, Katie, Kimberly; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Zacary; also by his mother, Jo Ann C. West and sisters, Lynnette (Jim) Gasik, Diane (Russell) Shurtleff, and Re Nae (Gary) Heaton, and many extended family members.

Mark was welcomed home by his father, Jesse A. West and son, Parker Jesse West.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 1:00 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 1077 West South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, UT. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 11:30 – 1:00 p.m.
