Mary Kladis Maroudas Obituary (1931 - 2015)

Mary Kladis Maroudas passed away early on the morning of September 21, 2015 after her battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Jim, children Rita (Spiro) Demas and George Maroudas, grandchildren Athena (Anton) Pitts, George and Nicole Demas, Krista and Dionna Maroudas, great-granddaughter Alexis Pitts, brother John Kladis (Chicago), as well as many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her father and mother Lambros and Kyriakoula, sisters Frocene Pitsoulakis and Sophia Dokianos, and daughter-in-law Margo Maroudas. Born in Chicago in 1931, Mary loved to reminisce about her father's ice cream and candy shop and the time she spent with her siblings. She married into the loving family of Jim Maroudas in 1970. For 31 years, she worked with her husband Jim and son George at Grecian Garden Restaurant in Murray. Her vibrancy and passion for life were conveyed through heartfelt expressions that the most important things in life were laughter and family. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral located at 279 So. 300 West, Salt Lake City, UT. Interment immediately following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2015 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Holy Trinity Cathedral with a Trisagion Service at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Philoptochos Benevolence Fund at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
