"BELOVED MOTHER"\n\nMary "Beth" Connelly Christensen, age 90, passed away very peacefully February 17, 2013 at her home in Holladay, Utah, just two days before her 91st birthday. She was born on February 19, 1922 to Grame and Esther Connelly in Levan, Utah. She graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, Utah. The family later moved to Draper and then Salt Lake City where she attended and graduated from LDS Business College.\n.\nBeth loved dances, and it was at one of these dances that she met Harvey Reed Christensen. On November 8, 1946, she married Harvey in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they began their lives in Sugarhouse and had four children.\n\nBeth had a great love of music and joined the Symphony Singers choral group, performing with them for many years. The family moved to Holladay, Utah in 1957, where she and Harvey lived the remainder of their lives. During this time, Beth worked at Hi-Land Dairy. She was a faithful member in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in numerous callings. Later in life, she and Harvey enjoyed serving in the Jordan River Temple. They both instilled in their children a love of family and gospel principles. Beth will always be remembered as a loving daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed many visits and trips with them. Music, travel, reading, painting and gardening were particular favorites; and St. George, a popular destination.\n\nRecently, Beth endured a lot of health ills, but still enjoyed a chocolate treat and many scenic drives and picnics with family. Her son, Kevin graciously cared for her at home for many years\n.\nSurvived by her daughter, Sherma; sons, Glade, Kevin and Brent; sisters, Bernis Moore, Renae Clark, Margo (Fred) Silvester; sister-in-law, Marian Connelly-Jones(Gary); brother- in –law, Barney Roberts; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Harvey; brother, Gary Connelly; sister, Iris Roberts; brothers-in-law, Dale Clark, Bill Mihlberger and Dan Moore\n.\nSpecial thanks to Caregiver Support Network Home Health & Hospice.\n\nFuneral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 12 noon in the Cottonwood 12th Ward Chapel, 1750 E. Spring Lane (5195 S). A viewing before the service will be held from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, 3115 Bengal Blvd. (7695 S.).
