Our sweet and beautiful mother and grandmother passed away peacefully of natural causes on June 4, 2008 at Avalon Valley Care Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born on September 25, 1925 in Los Angeles, California to Jesse Edith McGraw Wilson and William J. B. Wilson. She was the youngest of five children.\n\nMary married Albert Hall Wilson on June 6, 1942 and spent the next 30 years supporting Al in the Marine Corps until he retired. \n\nMom was an amazing person who gave all she had to anyone who was in need. Al survived a terrible fall of over 130 feet and Mom took care of him for 33 years until his death. She never complained that life was too hard or not fair—she just continued Christ-like service to everyone around her.\n\nMom was so soft-hearted and she loved animals. She took in any stray that needed a home. Not only she took them in, but loved them intensely. She also was a friend to the homeless and gave refuge to many who needed a place to stay. The thing that made her the happiest was taking care of others.\n\nMary joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1993 and now can be sealed to her husband for time and all eternity.\n\nMary is survived by her two sons, Albert Hall Wilson, Jr. (Chepi), James William Wilson (Cindy); daughter, April Elizabeth Shirley (John); 9 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her mother; father; son, David Bryan Wilson; and all of her brothers and sisters.\n\nFuneral Services will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 11:00 AM, where friends and family may attend her viewing from 10:00-11:00 a.m.\n\nShe will be buried next to her loving husband at Riverside National Cemetery in California where a graveside service will take place.
