Music was always a part of Mary’s life and a lasting legacy in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Leading her family with her beautiful soprano voice, it seems we were always singing. She was also a talented seamstress who sewed each of her daughters’ wedding dresses, and a fabulous cook who kept recipes from our family’s heritage alive. Late in life she taught herself to tat and made lace handkerchiefs for each of her married granddaughters’ weddings. Mary loved us with all her heart, and we knew it.Mary is survived by her husband, children, 27 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, her sister, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the emergency, trauma, palliative and hospice care crews at Intermountain Medical Center for their patience and tender care, and especially to Lisa Looney, our nurse, who guided us through the process of letting her go.Services will be held Saturday, April 14, at the Holladay 27th Ward Chapel, 5400 S Holladay Blvd, 11:00 am.
