Melvin McCabe Scott, Jr. Obituary (1932 - 2015)

Melvin McCabe Scott Jr. passed away January 29, 2015 in South Jordan, Utah. He was born February 23, 1932 in Washington, D.C. to Melvin McCabe Scott Sr. and Ruth Little Scott. Survived by his wife, Astrid Karlsen, children, Susan (Roy) Rasmussen, Eric (Sherri) Scott, John (Brenda) Scott, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by his parents and grandson, David McCabe Rasmussen. Melvin was a beloved husband and father, graduate of Hargrave Military Academy, college athlete at the University of Richmond, Korean War Veteran, Civil Engineer, Insurance Agent, member of the Sons of the American Revolution and former LDS Bishop and High Councilman. Hobbies include boating, history, genealogy, photography, sports and traveling the world but his greatest love was his family and serving others. We will forever be grateful for the support he gave and the knowledge and wisdom he had and shared with us. Viewing and funeral services: Monday, Feb. 2, 2015 at the LDS Church, 2450 W. 10400 S. South Jordan, Utah. Viewing: 9:30-10:30am. Funeral: 11:00 am. Following the funeral, burial will take place at the Camp Williams Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bluffdale, Utah.
