Merlin A. Gledhill passed away July 18, 2006. He was born June 7, 1924 in Vermillion, Utah to Alden and Eva Harmon Gledhill. Married Roselee Kitchen on Oct. 8, 1946; she passed away. He then married Ida Lemire Nelson on June 15, 1983 in Salt Lake City, UT.\n\nMerlin served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served many callings. He especially loved working with Young Men.\n\nSurvived by his wife, Ida; children, Vickie (Michael) Hansen, Douglas (Christine) Gledhill, Gary (Kay) Gledhill, Patricia (Bill) Kuhn and Dennis (Marcie) Gledhill; sisters, Elaine (Lee) Larson, Luta Shelton; brother, Jerald Gledhill; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by Angela Nelson, a step-granddaughter, whom he helped raise and loved dearly.\n\nFuneral services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where friends and family may call from 12:00-12:45 p.m. prior to services.
