South Jordan, UT- It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Mike Harris, 86, on October 15th, 2023, surrounded by his family.\n\nMike was born on June 8th, 1937, to Parker and Jennie Harris in Pasadena, California. He served our great nation for 8 years in the United States Navy prior to meeting the love of his life Jeannette (Jo) Visser in 1958 and later married on April 18th, 1959. They moved to Sandy, Utah in 1969 where they raised their 2 children, Lorie Diamant and John Harris. There they built a beautiful life and legacy.\n\nMike worked in the title insurance industry for 40+ years. He retired in 2002 as the Vice President of Operations for First American Title Insurance Company.\n\nMike was active in the 4-H program as a leader for many years providing space for 4-H Club Members to raise and care for their animals. He enjoyed the care and showing of Quarter Horses with his daughter Lorie, raising cattle, sheep, pigs and other ranch animals with his son John. Along with the involvement in livestock he enjoyed coaching and supporting John and others in shooting sports through the NRA, ATA and 4-H.\n\nMike and Jeannette enjoyed camping, 4 wheeling, and traveling with their children and grandchildren. We will forever cherish the memories made through all the adventures. After retirement Mike and Jeannette “hit the road” where they became full time RV’ers. They spent the summers in Fillmore, Utah as part time camp hosts at the KOA. They loved going on their 4 wheelers in the mountains. They spent their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona at the Palm Creek Resort, where they developed many friendships. Mike loved to play Pickleball, cocktail parties and all the fun associated with a good time.\n\nThe love Mike had for his wife and family is irreplaceable.\n\nMike is survived by his wife Jeannette, his son John (Michelle) Harris, his grandchildren Cameron (Shelby) Diamant, Meagan (Mike) Amaro, Breann (Matt) Aguilar, Robyn (Josh) Blazi, Rylee (Greg Peterson) Harris, Cody Harris and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Parker and Jennie Harris, sister Cheryl Massters, brother-in-law Joe Massters, daughter Lorie Diamant, father in-law John Visser and Mother in-law Vera Visser.\n\nMike’s memory and legacy will live on with all who knew and loved him. He will be sorely missed.\n\nA celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 27th, 2023, from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the Harvest Villas Club House, 10472 South Fall Harvest Drive, South Jordan, Utah 84095.
