“Millie”\n\nMildred E. Hooton, 86, passed away peacefully at Highland Care Center on March 8, 2006. Mildred was born December 1, 1919 in Murray, UT to Charley A. and Bertha Westlund Erickson.\nShe was the youngest of six children.\n\nShe met her husband, Forrest, while working at the Utah Woolen Mills. They were married June 10, 1941 at the Erickson family home in Murray, UT; their marriage was later solemnized April 25, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed three children: Kathy (Ron) Brown, Eric (Karen), and Kevin (Jo), as well as 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.\n\nMildred and Forrest were an incredible couple together for 57 years. She finally has her wish to be with him again, as Forrest passed away in May 1998. Preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Bertha, as well as her sisters and brothers: Margaret, Fred, Carl “Kelly” Oscar, and Lila.\n \nMildred was an accomplished seamstress. She presented a hand-crocheted afghan to each grandchild for their 16th birthday. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her family and friends. She faithfully served in many capacities as an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.\n\nThe family would like to thank the staff and her many friends at the Millcreek Retirement Center and Highland Care Center—she truly loved them.\n\nFuneral services will be Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State Street, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, March 13th, and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
