Myrtle Boehme Greenwell passed on peacefully in her sleep, as she wished, on April 27, 2022 at the age of 91 due to causes incident to age. Myrtle was born on March 7, 1931 in Bloomington, Idaho to Frederick Otto Boehme and Retta Mae Thompson Boehme. She was the second of three daughters. \n\nMyrtle attended school in Murray, Utah and graduated from Murray High School. After a short engagement, she married Emmett Porter Greenwell on August 29, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.\n \nMyrtle was a life-long faithful member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She always served in a calling, which included serving as a Ward Primary President and Ward Relief Society President. She was a faithful Visiting Teacher, not only visiting a list of Sisters, but also visiting many older single members, assisting with their needs as a companion to her husband. She served for over 20 years as a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Jordan River LDS Temple, perhaps her favorite calling. \n \nMyrtle and Emmett are the parents of 4 sons: Duff (Debbie), Cory (Sue), Bart (Brenda), and Shawn (Beth). They have 17 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. \n \nMyrtle is survived by her four sons and their spouses, all of her grandchildren, and all of her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her older sister Yvonne Hayward. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, her parents, her younger sister Lettie (died in infancy), and a daughter-in-law, Karen (Duff's wife). \n \nThe family would like to thank the staff of Legacy Retirement and Legacy House Assisted Living for their care over the past 3-1/2 years. \n \nFuneral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Jenkins-Soffe Funeral Home chapel, 1007 W South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah at 11:00am. A viewing will be held prior from 9:30am to 10:30am. Services will also be live streamed remotely and can be viewed by clicking on the link provided.
